The Umpqua Lighthouse State Park Campground is located just on the edge of the small town of Reedsport, Oregon and is a popular destination for sand dune explorers and beach combers. The campground sits about a quarter mile in from the ocean shores and is nestled along the edges of picturesque Lake Marie.
The campground has 49 sites of which 20 are tent only, 10 are full hookup and 9 are electric and water. There are also 8 yurts and two log cabins that can be rented in advance for those who are looking to avoid the harsh coastal elements. Onsite you will also find showers, flushing toilets, potable drinking water, picnic tables at each site with campfire rings and several on-site camp hosts.
The layout of the campground is nice and wooded and from the entrance you will descend slightly and come across more campsites that are in a loop format. Some of the sites are near lake Marie and some are not. In general the sites are moderately private depending on which one you end up in.
Nearby activities include exploring the Oregon Dunes, lounging by Lake Marie, checking out the nearby Umpqua Lighthouse or just enjoying the sound of the ocean. If you need something from the store the town of Reedsport is just a quick 5 minute drive. There are also nearby ATV rentals for those looking for a little more adventure. It should be noted that the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park Campground is not ATV friendly and if you are looking to camp somewhere that is you should check out the Half Moon Bay Campground that is nearby.
