Sunset Bay Campground Description

Sunset Bay State Park is located just south of Coos Bay on the Oregon coast and offers incredible coastal views and beach access.  The park is really more of a sheltered bay with a beautiful little beach and day use area that is great for visitors of all kinds.  There is access to hiking trails, viewpoints of the Cape Arago lighthouse and even a nearby golf course for those looking to hit the links.

The campground offers full amenities including 30 full RV hookups as well as electrical and water hookups, tent sites, walk in sites and two group camping areas.  You won’t find stellar views or amazing privacy in the campground however the beach is just a short walk away and there is plenty of nearby attractions that make up for the lack of in campground ambiance. There are several camphosts on staff during the busy season and you can purchase firewood from one of the several kiosks.  Amenities include potable water, flushing toilets, showers, an amphitheater and lots of nearby activities for everyone.

Sunset Bay State Park and Campground is a beautiful little destination but be sure to make reservations if you are traveling here during the busy summer months as it tends to fill up quickly.  The campground is open year round so if you can make your way here during the winter you will avoid the crowds and even have the chance to see some serious wave action at the nearby Cape Arago State Park.  Sunset Bay State Park is definitely worth a visit!
