Riverside Metolius Campground Description
Don’t be misled by the name: unlike most of the Camp Sherman/Metolius River campgrounds, the camp sites at Riverside campground are set back quite a ways from the riverbank, easily 200 yards into dry scrubland. Sites are identified by numbers affixed to the picnic tables, with little indication where one site ends and the next begins. They’d probably be great for multi-family jamboree-style tent camping, and offer unobstructed night sky views, but if you’re imagining being lulled to sleep by the white noise of a rushing river, head to one of the campgrounds further downriver.
