Raab Campground Description

Raab Campground is located on the Collawash River just a few miles up from where it fees into the Clackamas River.  While there are few campsites that are actually on the river, there is great access to a rocky beach from a trail near the second loop.   Raab Campground does not have drinking water so be sure to bring plenty of water as the nearest location to fill up is about 2 miles down the road at Riverside Campground.  Depending on the time of year, Raab can be nearly vacant or completely full.  Raab is a great campground for those who don’t mind having to walk for river access.

Update 5/27/2024: Raab Campground is currently one of the few campgrounds open after fires devastated the area.  Even so, the campground is in desperate need of some TLC.  Multiple sites are closed and the road through camp is narrow with downed trees that need to be cut back.  It is nice to see that the campground is open, however the Forest Service needs to come through and spend a day tiding it up.

  1. They made this a group campground, however, they didn’t rearrange any of the sites, so the Group area we reserved (B) was actually 4 separate sites. Not a problem for our group, but others may not like it. There is an awesome swimming hole behind site B. We really enjoyed our time here.
