Paul Dennis Olallie Lake Campground Description

Paul Dennis Campground at Olallie Lake is located in the Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon near the foot of Mt. Jefferson.  The campground sits on the shores of the lake offering visitors an opportunity to sleep adjacent to the lapping waters of a pristine high-cascade mountain lake.  With plenty of recreational opportunities from fishing to hiking, Paul Dennis Campground and the greater Olallie Lake area is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The campground itself has 17 sites with many of the offering stunning views of Mt. Jefferson.  It is laid out in a small lollipop loop style and many of the parking areas are smaller and setup for car/tent camping only.  There is no potable water here, no cell service and toilets are vaulted.  Campfires are permitted though bans often go into effect during the late summer.

A nearby camp store at the Olallie Lake Resort provides basic amenities for sale though it should be noted that they accept cash or check only.  It is not permitted to swim in Olallie Lake itself as it is used as a drinking water source however there are plenty of other nearby lakes great for cooling off in.

The road to Olallie Lake is long and windy and turns to dirt which can be rough in some spots.  4×4 is usually advised though most standard vehicles can make the drive.
