Fishermen’s Bend Campground is located just west of Mill City, Oregon and is operated by the BLM. The campground is a well developed area setup ideally for large RVs and Trailers however tent camping is allowed here as well. Most campsites have hookups including water, electric and sewage and the toilets are flushing with showers, drinking water and trash services. There are 63 campsites that can accommodate upwards of 40 ft rvs and even pull through sites.
Fishermen’s bend campground is not going to be an ideal place for tent campers or those looking for solitude. This area is very well developed and the campground includes cabins for rent, an amphitheater, learning center, large recreation fields, shelters and huge restroom facilities. The campground is wooded and privacy depends on which campsite you end up in. Upon arrival there is a large map to show you where to go and a good sized registration building everyone must check in to.
Nearby activities include a playground for children, river access to the North Santiam River, a nature trail, amphitheater, and a learning center. As the name suggests there is nearby fishing on the river as well and this would be a decent hub for those looking to recreate nearby.
Overall Fishermen’s Bend campground would be a great spot for anyone looking for full RV hookups but not necessarily wanting to stay in a RV park. You will still feel like you are camping here but can enjoy the amenities of civilization at the same time. In our opinion this campground is NOT great for tent campers unless you are new to it or flushing toilets and showers are a must. We would suggest most tent campers keep heading towards the city of Detroit for more tent camping options.

My wife’s family will be holding memorial services at Gates on August 3, my wife and I are considering driving from Texas to attend. Would like to know if reservations could be made for check in on August 1, with checkout on August 4? Thank you for your response.
