Cove Creek Campground Description
Cove Creek Campground is located on the East side of Detroit Lake and features 63 campsites, a boat launch, and lakeshore access. The campground is the largest Forest Service campground on Detroit Lake – however the State Park on the other side of the lake is the largest overall campground.
Cover Creek Campground has potable water, flushing toilets, showers, a camp host on site, firewood sales, cell service and a boat ramp with ample parking for boat owners. The campsites vary in size and privacy with some having good lake shore access and others none at all or a steep hill down to the lake.
Overall the campground is good relative to others on Detroit Lake as it is not adjacent to any highways and is a little more quite.

We will be visiting this campground in August with a party of 6 adults and one 2 year old. So we plan to erect 3 tents and have 3 cars… which campsite will accommodate this size familý? Or Should we camp at southshore or some place else on Detroit Lake?
You would just have to look through photos and try and figure out which site would be the best for that. If you don’t already have reservations it may not be easy to get the exact site you want though. As for vehicles most campsites can accommodate at least 2 vehicles and campgrounds almost always have an overflow parking area.
