Camp Sherman Campground - Metolius River, Oregon

Camp Sherman Campground is located on the beautiful Metolius River in central Oregon just a 30 minute drive from the town of Sisters.  The area is a popular destination for fly fishing and the campground is nestled conveniently on the banks of the river.  Nearby the town of Camp Sherman offers the convenience of a general store and basic amenities for those who need them.

Camp Sherman Campground is one of the more popular campgrounds on the Metolius river however it is far from the best.  Perhaps it is popular because it is so close to Camp Sherman you can walk to the general store in about 3 minutes.  The campground itself does not have the best campsites – they are not too close to the river and there is little privacy between them.  Some of the sites will make you feel like you are sharing an area with your neighbor.

The campground is open year round and does take reservations so be sure to make those if you are headed here during the busy season.  There are vault toilets, potable water, nearby firewood sales and fishing.  If you want privacy be sure to go a little further downstream to one of the other campgrounds on the Metolius.
