The hike starts out at the top of the canyon and mildly descends towards the Deschutes River hugging the canyon walls. There are a few spots of cliff exposure however the trail is so wide that there is little concern of danger.
The falls are located at the end of the trail, and they are well worth the minimal effort to get there. The water cascades down a series of colorful cliffs, creating a stunning sight. In the spring, the wildflowers that bloom in the canyon add to the beauty of the falls. This is also a very popular area for local daredevils as the falls and deep pool below provide the perfect backdrop for cliff divers.
