Mist Falls Attraction Description

Mist Falls is small and lesser known waterfall located just a mile or so west of the popular Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon.  Mist Falls flows year round however at times it can go down to a little more than a trickle and even during the wetter months the water flow is not much.  It is possibly for this reason, and due to Multnomah Falls overshadowing it, that Mist Falls does not get much attention.  Even so, we still think Mist Falls is one of the most unique waterfalls in all of the Columbia River Gorge.

Mist Falls lives up to its name and due to the winds of the mighty gorge it often disappears altogether as its water flow gets turned into a mist.  Access to Mist Falls is also very difficult as there is not real trail to it and you have to scramble up a steep hill side full of loose rock.  This is possibly one of that last and best kept secrets of the Columbia River Gorge.
