Northshore Campground Description

Located on the shores of Lake Britton in California, Northshore Campground beckons boating enthusiasts and campers seeking a relaxing lakeside retreat. The campground is operated by the Pacific Gas and Electric Corporation and is a great place to stay when visiting the nearby McArthur-Burney Falls.

Located directly across the water from the renowned McArthur-Burney Falls State Park, Northshore Campground enjoys a prime position for those looking to explore the surroundings. Visitors can enjoy lake access for swimming, boating, and fishing, creating an idyllic setting for water-based adventures. The state park, a mere 6-mile drive away, opens up a realm of hiking trails and the famous McArthur-Burney Falls.

Northshore Campground is located down a steep and narrow paved road and sites in a lightly forested haven, providing gently shaded backdrop to the 30 campsites catering to RVs, trailers, and tents. While the recent drought necessitated the removal of some trees, diminishing the shade, the campground’s charm remains. A 2-night minimum stay is required for arrivals on Fridays or Saturdays and for those opting for reservations. There are showers in the campground which will cost you $1 (they only take dollar bills). An unimproved boat ramp is conveniently located nearby, inviting water enthusiasts to explore the lake ($7 launch fee).

Reservations can be made for camping dates from mid-May through mid-September, weather permitting. The campground boasts sites accommodating RVs/trailers up to 55 feet in length – though you may have trouble navigating the narrow road into camp.
